In the second last weekend of September in Gdansk Polish Finn Championships regatta took place. In the competition competed 22 Finn sailors from Poland and Germany, in age groups from juniors to masters. During four days of racing nine races were played in sunny and windy conditions.
Thefirst place and the title of Polish Finn Champion 2013 earned Piotr Kula (BTZ Biskupiec), competitor of last year’s Olympic Games in London, the second place went to Rafal Szukiel (AKS-OES Olsztyn), Olympian from Beijing 2008 and the third place went to Milosz Wojewski (Sejk Pogon Szczecin). I eventually finished fifth, just behind Michal Jodłowski (UKSFir Warsaw).
This was my third Polish Finn Championship regatta, after two seasons of Finn sailing. Overthe last year, especially in the first half most of the energy I spenton trainings and preparations, the effects came naturally with time and required hard work and patience. Becauseof my involvement in private affairs and work, in the second half of the year I could not fully concentrate on my training program. However the Polish Finn Championship regatta I consider as a success. In some races sailed very good, in other I ran out of consistence, what resulted in place beyond my level.
In the past year made ??a significant effort to develop sailing skillsthrough participation in a variety of workouts, training camps and regattas, as well as attracting the support of sponsors, so that I can pursue my passion for sailing. In front of me is still a lot of work to do to match the best. Intensive training and new goals and every day life, give me the opportunity to actively achieving better results and motivate for further work.
Would like to thank my colleagues from Polish Finn Team and Dinghy Academy Valencia. Without their professional advice, assistance and common hours on the water, I could not achieve such skills.
Iwish to extend special thanks to the coaches Luca Devoti, Tytus Konarzewski, Andy Zawieja, Andrzej Piasecki and Bogumil Głuszkowskiego. With their knowledge, experience, valuable remarks and patience my progress would not be so great.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me . Feel free to follow up my struggle.
